A Follow-Up (& Feeling Less F.U.)

Night 2 of sleep training went a lot, lot, better. Get a load of this: it’s now nearly 7am and I’m anxiously waiting for him to wake! My last post was from the wee-hours of a sleepless Night 1 and not sure if my point even got articulated but it was that the highly emotive, debated-and-argued, “parenting issues” (in my case with a baby I’ve now experienced the “mommy wars” of feeding and sleeping methods) are actually less about the issue(s) and more about systemic problems that impact our entire species (and in turn our species’ impact on the planet), namely: we need to prioritize people over profit, value the truths of our interconnection over fantasies of independence; and lean into developing our humanity not deadening it. I thought the 3/24/22 podcast episode of “We Can Do Hard Things” addressed this well as they discussed the war-on-aging (and how it’s not really about aging at all). And speaking of doing hard things and how that doesn’t happen in isolation all this growth and development going on over here in my house has got me committed to writing everyday, and, (and here’s the much harder part for me) not erasing / deleting / throwing-it-out! On that note I see a tiny foot on my monitor beginning to dance a person into a new day. May we all dance our person and our people into dawns and awakenings! ❤
